The Capitalized Cost Calculation Worksheet is a worksheet that the dealership may use to record the components of the capitalized cost entered on a Motor Vehicle Prelease Agreement, Motor Vehicle Lease Order or Motor Vehicle Lease Agreement. It may be shown to the customer or used simply to document capitalized cost components. The Capitalized Cost Calculation Worksheet differs from many lessor worksheets in that it is not used to calculate the actual lease cost and does not disclose the lease rate. This makes it a much better form for disclosing the components of capitalized cost to customers should a dealership choose to do so. Federal Discloses under Regulation M provide consumers with the option of seeing the components of the "Gross Capitalized Cost". The Capitalized Cost Worksheet is an excellent tool to meet the Reg M requirement. The capitalized Cost Calculation worksheet also provides areas for sales tax and trade-in information.
